Overall, the economy diversified little and its level of export sophistication has not increased followed by minerals (9.4) and textiles (9). Kenya is a well-diversified economy with a high number of competitively exported products across different industries. However, for its level of economic diversification, its exports are not particularly unique,14 and it has introduced few new products that add additional value.15 The fact that Kenya's main export products are produced by many other countries reduces firms' profit margins, making it harder for them to compete. For example, Kenya exports has consequently changed little during the last 10 years.
