Since this report was first published in 2012 we have seen big swings in inflation, growth, prices and exchange rates but one of the main enduring trends has been Over this period, on a PPP basis, the US has got more expensive relative to every single one of the 42 economies covered in this report. Australia and Norway have cheapened up considerably but still rank highly on a PPP basis. The real outlier is in 2012 to only around 30% today in USD terms.
