In 2023, the number of FTE decreased to around 44,0o0 FTE. EU in 2023, ranking the top 19 EU Member States. Poland had the highest FTE with 40,000 FTE. Germany ranks second with 30,000 FTE. France is third with 27,000 FTE. Sweden is in fourth place with 20,000 FTE. Italy and Latvia both have 15,000 FTE, which puts them in joint fifth place.
